Mapesbury Conservation Area
Designated a Conservation Area in 1982 - Mapesbury Conservation Area is one of the largest Conservation cohesive residential areas in Brent which comprises of unaltered Town House development dating from between 1870 and 1925 along tree lined roads. The Estate is bounded to the west by Walm Lane, Chichelle Road to the east, by the rear of properties on Shoot Up Hill and to the north by the rear of the properties in Anson Road.
The properties were built as suburban villas within their own plots of land for those people requiring easy access to the city. They are mainly two storey with attic rooms and substantial mature gardens to the front and rear. Presently the Conservation Area is expanding to take in the east side of Walm Lane around Blenheim Gardens NW2. This area is popular with young families moving from West Hampstead, Queens Park and Maida Vale, looking for more lateral living accommodation.
Hampstead Schools such as University College School, South Hampstead, Channing, St Margarets and Arnold House are only 10 minutes drive and the highly rated OFSTED – Mulberry House School (ages 2-8) is a short walk away.
